Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels, the third ace in the teams stacked rotation, will be a free agent at seasons end and it doesnt sound as if hes planning to run out of town too quickly.

I was fortunate enough to be drafted into an organization that is trying to win and obviously has won, Hamels said Monday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Every day, every year, we seem to get some top players. So that kind of shows the value and the direction the team wants to go. Ive just been very fortunate to be a part of it. Its a great organization to play for and Id love to be part of it.

The 28-year-old Hamels, who was the MVP of the 2008 National League Championship Series and World Series in his third season with the team, has gone 74-54 with the team. Last season, he was 14-9 with a 2.79 ERA.

Ever since Ive been here, theyve been able to do a really good job of keeping the guys that they draft - especially the guys that they like, Hamels said, according to the paper. I just hope Im one of those guys that they like.

You can be sure they like him — a lot -- in Philly.

Follow Scoop du Jour on Twitter or Facebook.

But the Boston Herald has it that when Lloyd spoke on PFT Live, you could almost hear Lloyd light up over the phone when the subject of the New England Patriots came up. The paper points out the Lloyd has also mentioned previously that he wouldnt mind reuniting with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

Yes, I find that very interesting, Lloyd told PFT Live when asked about the Pats, the Herald reports. I would like to entertain that and see where that goes. Theres no bones about that. Ive been very successful in Josh McDaniels offense, I really admire Tom Brady, I admire that organization and how they run things over there, so Id definitely be interested in hearing how I could possibly fit into that equation.

All the Pats fans that were screaming about Wes Welker dropping that pass in the Super Bowl have got a very good idea of how Lloyd could fit into the equation. He had 966 receiving yards and five touchdowns for the Rams last year.

Let the rumors come to you. Follow Scoop du Jour on Twitter or Facebook.
